One/two weeks extension of thesis hand in 2020
Dear fellow thesis students at ITU,
Please sign this petition and help us get the thesis deadline extended from June 2nd to June 9th!
As you all new, the Executive Management at ITU has decided to provide us with the possibility of extending our thesis hand in from June 2nd to September 1st without using an exam attempt due to the current circumstances.
However, extending the deadline with three months is not an optimal solution for many of us:
- Being an official student for the months of July - September seriously diminishes the amount of money you are allowed to earn in 2020 besides SU. Meaning that those of us starting work during these months will have to pay back SU, EVEN if we opt out of SU during these three months.
- Many companies and jobs require that you have completed your master’s degree before you can begin working.
- Some students have accepted job opportunities outside of DK starting from July or August.
The current circumstances have affected everyone and it’s important for everyone to be flexible – including us students. Likewise, we hope that ITU will try to be flexible in terms of providing us with one/two week(s) extension without us having to postpone our graduation date.
We are a group of students who would like to make an appeal to the Executive Management and study board, and ask them to (re)consider extending the deadline with one/two week(s), as we believe that these few weeks can make a huge difference for many of us.
If you agree, please sign this petition, so that we can encourage management to reconsider their decision. We will ask them to extend the deadline with one/two weeks and also keep their first offer – September 1st.
