Elektronisk spillested/kulturhus med safer spaces policy i Aalborg

Savner du elektronisk musik i Aalborg? Trænger du også til et alternativ til Jomfru Ane Gade?

Et græsrodsinitiativ bestående af arrangører, DJ's, entusiaster og safer spaces-advocates fra Aalborgs elektroniske musikscene (ved navn NEMA) er i øjeblikket ved at iværksætte et samarbejde med kommunen om at få tildelt et sted, hvor vi kan afvikle musik- og kulturevents.

Vores vision er et sted, der er trygt og sikkert for alle deltagende at være i. Et sted, hvor vi – med inspiration fra safer spaces-initiativer som Club Mafia – vil kæmpe for et inkluderende klubmiljø, hvor du kan komme, som du er – uanset om du er LGBTQ+, BIPOC, kvinde eller andet; Et miljø, der ikke på nuværende tidspunkt findes i Aalborgs klubscene.

Udover at stedet skal have et trygt og inkluderende miljø at være i, ønsker vi os, at det skal kunne danne ramme om ferniseringer, talks, workshops og lignende kulturelt funderede projekter og events. Det vil også være et sted, der vil være åbent for ideer og inputs samt frivillig involvering.

Men før at alt det kan blive til virkelighed, så skal vi først kunne dokumentere, at du deler vores ønske om et elektronisk spillested/kulturhus/safer space i Aalborg!

Do you miss going to electronic music shows in Aalborg? Are you also in need of an alternative to Jomfru Ane Gade?

A grassroots initiative consisting of organizers, DJ’s, enthusiasts and safer spaces-advocates from Aalborg’s electronic music scene (by the name of NEMA) are currently in the proces of initiating a conversation with Aalborg Municipality about *acquiring/getting* a venue where we can have electronic music shows in the future.

It is our vision to have a place that can grant a safe and comfortable haven for all participants to be in. A place where we – with great inspiration from safer spaces-initiatives like the Club Mafia out of Copenhagen – will fight for an inclusive club environment, where you can be who you are – no matter if you’re LGBTQ+, BIPOC, female or other; An environment Aalborg’s mainstream club scene does not currently offer.

Apart from being an inclusive safe space our, vision is that the venue can host art shows, studio spaces, talks, workshops, and other kinds of culturally founded projects and events. It will also be a place that will be open to all of your ideas and inputs as well as volunteer participation.

But before this can all become a reality and for the conversation to even get started, we need your signature to show the Municipality, that there is a valid and present need for this type of venue.
